Novavita Sdn. Bhd. marked a significant milestone in its commitment to halal industry development through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on 27 October 2026 at Dewan Canselor, UTeM, in conjunction with the TVET JELITA Programme.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, alongside YB Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education, and YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Minister of Plantation and Commodities.

Bridging Academic Knowledge and Industry Expertise

The strategic collaboration brings together UTeM’s academic and technical expertise with Novavita’s practical experience in halal compliance, regulatory consultancy and professional training.

Through this partnership, both organisations aim to strengthen halal talent development by bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry requirements.

The collaboration also seeks to explore innovative training approaches that integrate practical industry applications, digital technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts to better prepare professionals for the evolving demands of the halal sector.

Developing a Future-Ready Halal Workforce

As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position in the global halal economy, developing competent and adaptable industry professionals remains essential.

Beyond technical knowledge, halal professionals require a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance management, risk assessment and emerging technologies.

By combining academic resources with industry experience, the Novavita–UTeM collaboration aims to create meaningful learning opportunities that enhance professional competencies, improve industry readiness and support long-term workforce development.

These efforts are expected to benefit not only aspiring halal professionals but also businesses seeking to strengthen their compliance capabilities and competitiveness in local and international markets.

Strengthening Malaysia’s Halal Ecosystem

For Novavita, this partnership represents a continuation of its commitment to transforming industry knowledge into practical learning and professional development opportunities.

The collaboration reflects a shared vision to nurture skilled halal talent, encourage innovation and contribute to a stronger, more competitive halal ecosystem in Malaysia and beyond.

Novavita extends its sincere appreciation to UTeM’s leadership and management for their trust and collaboration and looks forward to translating this agreement into impactful initiatives that support the future of halal talent development.
